We decided to take another trip up to Rockport with the Munro's. We were cursed with wind the entire time. We tried to wait it out in the parking lot, but it didn't stop. We then decided to give it a go. After all, we had a new boat and we were going to use it!! The water was choppy and not very pleasant.
After awhile on the lake, we had had enough. We went back in and Derrick went to get my gold Ford truck to pull the boat out. Rockport has a tiny 2 lane ramp. As it was getting late in the evening, most everyone that was on the lake was pulling off. After we had put the boat on the trailer, Derrick went to pull the truck out. He tried the door, but it was locked!! He must have hit the button getting out to hook up the boat. So here we sat, wind blowing, truck running with keys locked in it, blocking one of the two lanes on the ramp with everyone trying to get off the lake.
We tried all of our ideas, but couldn't get in the truck. I was ready to break the back window to get in when I finally popped the lock on the sliding window with a tool we found in the boat. Cassity climbed in the window and unlocked the doors. Needless to say, that was a relief. From that day on, we now carry a spare truck key in the boat.
